			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I believe soliprint can only change the contents of the EEPROM. Not a parameter in the Firmware i.e thermistor type. That change has to be complied then flashed.</p><p>As for the overtemp, In the FW there is a MAXTEMP parameter which is set to 300C. As what the jacket of the heater cart and the thermistor wires are, That&#039;s a good question- But I doubt that&#039;s PTFE. It has a slight gritty/rubbery texture.</p>]]></content>

Not impossible.</p><p>The weak point might be the plastic insulation on the heater wires. If it&#039;s PTFE and gets into the 230s (C) it could break down into some fairly toxic fumes. (Check with a temp probe, being careful not to short anything?)</p><p>Next up would likely be the temp sensor, but I don&#039;t know what part they&#039;re using.</p><p>Also, you&#039;ll find at some temp you&#039;ll overwhelm the heat break and jam.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Purely speculative: Lower temps mean less likely to hit the &quot;thump of death&quot; of an overheated cold end. Also makes for crisper corners and usually smoother surfaces, and less chance of coking the filament. With lower temps come with less interlayer adhesion and a higher Vref on the extruder to push out the more viscous plastic. (Definitely a balancing act as a hot direct drive stepper causes problems too.)</p><p>My first SD prints tended to have occasional little browned blobs of overcooked ABS in them.</p><p>It&#039;s also possible SP 1.1 fussed with the firmware termistor settings, changing the relationship of reported vs. actual temperature. (feels less likely, but it&#039;s all just speculation.)</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I wasn&#039;t getting good interlayer adhesion at 215. I print at 240 for the first layer and 220 thereafter (Well, until my heat bed died. Now I just wait for SD support). 240 is pretty toasty as a minimum temp. Try checking your stepper trim pot to see if you&#039;re getting enough current to your stepper. (Plenty of posts on that - I won&#039;t repeat here.)</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I&#039;ve noticed that the default ABS temperature in the newest versions of SoliPrint is 215C.</p><p>I believe that version 1.0 was ~245. What is the reason for the change? My Press won&#039;t extrude consistently at anything less than 240. </p><p>Any input?</p>]]></content>
