]]> https://www.soliforum.com/user/131/ 2015-05-18T14:52:08Z https://www.soliforum.com/post/96155/#p96155 <![CDATA[Re: Question about upgrades]]> You will most likely need to adjust the trim pot, I would suggest doing it by ear.  Just set it to move for a long enough time so that you can adjust it while it is in motion.  It is much easier than people think if you just listen and feel the motion until it is sounding and moving smoothly.  As for orientation goes all the pins should be labeled so just match it up with the old unit that way.  You won't burn it out if yo get it in wrong it just won't work.

I know I have to change the steps per min for the extruder but is that it? Do I need to adjust the pot on the driver itself? Also How is it oriented in the socket? It looks like it can fit in either way and I dont want to burn something else up lol

I started typing mine first, I think. I just had to research if the sanguinololu would play nice with 1/32 microstepping. My sluggishness is my downfall!

Edit: just noticed you have a Sanguinololu. Take the driver off of E and put it on Y, and put a DRV8825 on E. If you're going to buy a driver you may as well do some more upgrading! This will double the resolution of your hotend and make your prints look light years better.
