<![CDATA[SoliForum - 3D Printing Community — Workbench Pics]]> 2015-03-31T20:41:06Z PunBB https://www.soliforum.com/topic/10074/workbench-pics/ <![CDATA[Re: Workbench Pics]]> Getting closer.  Thanks for the pics tagyro.  I have hit a brick wall getting info from SD.  It looks like I have to wait to get my printer to help.  I have my hot ends already.  Still kicking around the idea of getting bulldog lites, but it looks like they're just as problematic as everything else.  I've never had an extruder issue with my Mk8.  I doubt the stock extruders are terrible.  Time will tell.  Let me know how you've progressed, maybe I can help you get done.

]]> https://www.soliforum.com/user/9632/ 2015-03-31T20:41:06Z https://www.soliforum.com/post/91585/#p91585 <![CDATA[Re: Workbench Pics]]> It doesn't look like a terribly huge undertaking to adjust for it.  Two things may require tweaking to make it work right.  The hotend fan, and the bed leveling sensor look like they may need a height adjustment to work properly.  If you haven't gotten it by the time I get mine, I'll send you the stl of whatever I draw so we can make it work.  I just dont trust any other hotend.  I went through 8 different brands, and turned two of my own, which I tried with different nozzles.  Mine were close as far as dependability but not perfect.  My e3d prints anything i can melt through it.

Thanks Tagyro.  Any time you need to get together to figure out broken printer stuff, I'm here.

You can change the temp in R-H but the max temp limit is set in the firmware so you will want to change the max temp in configuratin.h

Thanks for the pics, they help a lot.  Not being picky, but can you flip the fans up on the extruder side to reveal which extruder they used?  The e3d hack may already exist.  I was told by support that they used the SD4 extruder setup.  If that's the case, then there is definitely a hack for it.  I have been abused by crappy hotends already.  I'm not doing that again.

Well, the heads suck - they go up to 230 degrees only, and block the printer at that temperature smile
I also ordered a pair of e3d and hope I can install them - maybe we can help each other on that wink

I just ordered a workbench, and I'm having a hard time finding close up pics of the mechanical parts that don't suck.  The three on the SD website are pretty much fluff pics to get you to buy.  I need close-up pics of the extruder/hotend assembly in particular.  I'm trying to see what parts I'm going to need to tweak to make an E3d-V6 work in there.  This doesn't mean there is a problem with the existing hotends.  It just means that in my small world of 3d printing, if it's not an E3d-V6 it generally just sucks.  I'd love to get ahead of this while I turn grey waiting for my Workbench to get here.
