I'm using RH Mac 0.56. In SP, after Z calibration, the prints have been turning out decent and the first layer sticks fine. In RH, the Z offset wasn't quite right and the first layer printed too far from the bed. In the Slic3r configuration, under Printer Settings, I adjusted the Z offset to a negative number (-0.15 mm, in my case), and it now prints much closer to the print bed for a good first layer. I normally put down a good amount of glue with a glue stick, which works well.

As for settings, recently I've been using most of the default settings. I've changed the first layer speed to 50% (from 75%, I think), and I generally only play around with layer thickness, infill, skirt and brim settings for each print. Earlier, when I was still having extruder issues, I played around a lot with the temperature and lowered the speeds, but now I've reverted most of the settings back to default speeds. I've been using 220 for the extruder temperature with good results. It works at 215 too, but the layers don't seem to stick as well.

I've been trying to make SP work but its been a complete pain. I'd get it calibrated and printing. Then Id go to print another piece and it cant even lay down the circle let alone the first few layers..or it lays down the back but when it moves to the front it pulls up as if the bed isnt self-leveling (which wouldnt surprise me a this rate) Would definitely love to see what other people have runnings and at what specs

Josh

I'm using RH 1.06, and when printing the ISS wrench I get shifting on the Y axis.
Smaller prints work OK, so I'm guessing infill is where it trips up. Also, turning the wrench 90 degrees didn't change the axis the shift is on, so it's not the long moves.

Anyone feel they have the Press really well dialed in on RH 1.06, and willing export & share their settings? (printer/slicer/filament).

Barring that, anyone know the proper "Travel Feed Rate" in the RH printer setup?
Or in slic3er, the proper values for speeds and accelerations?

Thanks.

So after looking through these forums I was able to get my new press "working" in soliprint. I even managed to get a complete print(poor quality), but since the options for slicing in soliprint are limited and I've already dialed in exactly how my models need to be sliced for my SD4 I would much rather use RH.

Unfortunately using RH results in the printer starting prints in mid air instead of on the surface of the printbed.

In soliprint it prints at the right height and with RH I verified that the offset, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong that keeps the printer from starting at the right height.
