those cheap bearings can be sloppy if you get a really bad batch, which was the case for me. total junk. some of the balls even fell out. you can wrap tape around the bearings if the slop is between the bearing and printed part, though.

Update. So I got the rod loose sanded it bc it had a burr on it catching in the pillow block, adjusted the idler pulleys, loosened the y belts and it seems like it got better each time but I couldnt figure out why it still wouldn't move. Then I found the cog on the y motor was broken in two and the belt wasn't turning. I thought something was up. The carriage that sits on the y rods still has some slop and I'm not sure how to fix that. If anyone has a version they use for a Solidoodle let me know I'd like to print a new one that would take so of that out.

rock solid carriage. this is what i use on my machine. bump up your extrusion multiplier by somewhere between .01 and .05 to ensure a tight fit of everything. You can get cheaper LM8UUs from china but if you want my opinion, spend the cash for the misumi bearings. perfect tolerance.

print 100% infill, 2 perimeters. if you over extrude these for a tight fit you will probably have to drill out the holes for the X carriage rods. i used an 8mm drill bit and the fit is tight, but loose enough to allow the rods to align themselves and keep the carriage straight.

No quick fix for binding you are just going to have to locate the source one thing at a time

I can stop it about as easily as my sd3. I checked that. I checked and it moves in the opposite direction as it should when i hit the manuel x commands and it homes to the wrong side when I hit the x home. So i think i need to flip something there. I'll try more tomorrow.

Easy fix,  your motor is plugged in backward.  Just flip the plug over at the board.

I think I need to switch min and max on x bc when i hit home for x it runs away from the end stop. when I manually touch the end stop it'll stop. when I hit the home all button the hotend just kinda hovers a few mm away from the end stop. its rather odd

And when you manually tell the X to move does it move in the correct direction?
