<![CDATA[SoliForum - 3D Printing Community — ATLAS 3D & FreeLSS]]> 2024-07-30T04:15:01Z PunBB https://www.soliforum.com/ <![CDATA[Atlas3D/FreeLSS Project Fork - Any Revival Interest?]]> As I can tell, murobo.com is now offline, and as time goes on the community following is losing support and dissolving (seems hope is lost!)

While I was not part of the original backers/developers/anything -- I am here now, and so far I have managed to make decent success in getting a from scratch build working. By this I mean:

  • A Controller PCB was created, loosely based off the bb.png that is floating around, and has since been revised several times.

  • All the Atlas3d hardware interconnections are online (lasers toggle, camera works, motor turns), using the 2015-05 image

  • I also have a newer image obtained from a generous source. Please note, while I would appreciate a copy of 1.27 for testing, I do not have nor will I share any software I am not supposed to, without expressed written permission from its author or IP holder!

  • I have ported the 2015-05 image to be able to run on an array of RPi units, including RPi 1, 2(v1.2), 3

  • Revised the DIY PCB: Eliminated Secondary Power Source (5v). All is now run off a single 12v Supply (Want pics?)

  • Resolved issues with lasers not toggling and motors not spinning due to hardware/software mismatch



Next Steps:

  • Try to contact Uriah to obtain his blessing/potential support moving forward

  • Finish building my scanner chassis

  • Update FreeLSS to 1.22 & calibrate

  • Establish a Git fork from FreeLSS

  • Make a .IMG and upload

I have a family, job, life, many other obligations. I will do my best to be active, or at least provide a heartbeat when the going is slow. All I ask is for your constructive feedback, respect and understanding as I do my best keep this project alive!



The question is -- IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE?

So far, this has been a fun project, but its a lot of extra work to document and make it supported beyond what I personally need. I am happy to do/help, but only if there is a community and if people are wanting to learn/make this happen.

After some problems with my SD that became partially faulty, I've successfully copied it and after adding missing libs and files Freelss was up and running. I even recover my old scans.
Now, I try to find an 1.27 version to upgrade my 1.26 byop.
I've send PM and mail without success.

Can somebody help-me ?

]]> https://www.soliforum.com/user/10101/ 2024-05-21T14:41:54Z https://www.soliforum.com/topic/19216/request-for-127-version/new/posts/ <![CDATA[Enclosure kit files]]> I know I'm late to the game.  So....long story short.  I need to scan a couple objects.  I knew my dad bought a kit he never used in 2015.  I got it and pondered 3d printing all the parts but started reading the forum a bit.  I knew that someone asked for the files but was denied.  I was looking at documentation and noticed the parts on the enclosure kit looked like drawings.  So I imported the PDF page and since I knew some dimensions of the parts I spent about 30 minutes resizing the pieces.  I cut it out using 5mm plywood and it actually fit together without any modifications.  I did 3d print the laser holders and the coupler.  But I got it all done today and didn't have to wait hours and hours 3d printing and putting together parts.  Here is the link to download:

I did need a longer ribbon cable to the camera which I had.  I had to use mostly different hardware than what was in the original kit.  I spray painted all the pieces black. 

I hope to get it working before trying any modifications to the lasers or camera.

I just got the atlas kit up and running. I have an 8mb camera with the 1.27 image.
I set the little 3d printed checkerboard on the turn table after aligning the lasers and camera. I ran the calibration and then did a scan. The scan looked like a pile of floating dots.
As for the calibration, please see the attached PLY file. I am not sure what i am looking for.

I have got to this point and need some help.

The kit is fully built and connected (and accessible) via wifi.
The check for update link does not work.
Camera functions correctly
Both Lasers do not turn on
The stepper motor does not turn on

To get to this point I have
--Replaced the SD card - the pre loaded software did not work and I was unable to write to the card using etcher or disk utility on MacOS
--Bought an 8mega pixel pi cam as there was no camera included in the kit
--Upgraded the power supply from the 5V 2.5A to a 5V 4A

Does anyone have any ideas of what I should try next?

Any help will be gratefully appreciated

A while back I upgraded my FreeLSS shareware v1.22 to the paid v1.27.  I was sent a link to download the version and a serial number.  Post d/l of the firmware and flashing it to a 33MB SD card, my Raspberry Pi 4B will not boot with this version.  I works fine with the free v1.22 installed a per the Github instructions.

I have tried 3 different etchers - hairu suggested the etcher on the Pi site - - I tried that several time with no success.  I also repeated the D/L multiple time with no change - - still the Pi will not boot.

Any suggestions or help appreciated.  I hace tried to contact the developer (hairu) via e-mail multiple times with no response.
Appreciate any ideas to try.

in building my atlas, that ive had sitting in box for prob 3 years.. the laser broke (wires came out...), and the camera cable was too short, so i ordered one online, and now im not sure its the right one as the camera just had a black screen with red x across it?
so, if possible, may i have:
a. the exact specs for replacement lasers for the atlas scanner
b. a replacement 9proper one) cable for the camera, possibly longer than the one that came with the atlas from murobo (as it was too short, i have the acrylic frame version)

i went to the calibration video, and immediately saw that im supposed to see the camera live view when i click camera, so i know something is up, i assume the cable i bought as longer replacement...)
also, when i click toggle laser, the one lights up, the new replacement i bought doesnt light.unlight)

I had a problem with my atlas kit's camera, so I replaced it with a rpi 8mp camera. It calibrates perfect now and will scan on the calibration preset, but anytime I try to do a full res scan, the software locks up on the first scan with the laser on, the table stopped, and no response in the web browser or in PuTTY.
