Over a year ago, after collecting my old supports and failed prints for over 18 months I looked at buying a Filastruder and Filawinder, but didn't.

Earlier this year, I looked again, but now find it's unavailable, witn no ETA for when it might be available again.

I've contacted support@filastruder.com, but they basically restate the "no ETA" message, which, to me, indicates there are no plans to ever restart production.

The Filastruder looks to me like the ideal kit for a hobbyist since there's lots of scope to tinker. Something like the Felfil Evo looks too much like a black box, so I'd like to get hold of one, if possible, by getting all parts.

I can see that several of the parts (gearmotor, chassis, enclosure, etc) are available on the Filastruder site but would need a complete list to assemble a full kit.

Nuts, bolts, electronic components, etc aren't a problem, but things like the control board PCB and certain mechanical parts might be difficult to get.

First, I notice that the PCBs (popuklated or not) don't seem to be listed. Can they be bought or are the Gerber files (or similar) available at a reasonable price to get new ones made?

Also, the tube and heater assembly (or parts) isn't listed; can this be bought as a 'spare part'? There's probably other bits I'm not even aware of that are't listed as spares'

The Filaspooler kit appears to still be available, so it's only the Filastruder parts I'd need to get to make my own setup. Obviosly, there's no point buying a Filaspooler without the Filastruder.

Is it possible to get a full list of all the parts and if they can be bought or copies made?

Thanks in advance for any information.

The polystyrene that I'm loading in is in the form of small flakes. I could see the screw spinning before I put in plastic.

To try to fix this, I tried to adjust the current and voltage limitation knobs, because the voltage and current values seemed strange. The input voltage is around 11.2 V and the output around 11.1 V. The output current is about 0.3 A and the power is about 4 P (not sure what unit that corresponds to). I was able to set the current and voltage limiting knobs as the instructions describe. The indicator light labeled FULL (or something like that, it's hard to read) was green, and the IN and OUT lights were alternating and flashing red with the cycling display. No other lights are on.

I hear a clicking sound every few seconds, but that might just be the heater turning on and off.

Has anyone encountered similar issues, and how did you fix them? If not, what diagnostic tools do you recommend?

As the subject says, I have an issue with my filastruder power cycling off and on every few seconds. I have read on another post that it is likely the over current protection circuit in the power supply but I can't find any shorts. I am getting positive 12V between the power wire into the main switch and pin 10 on the controller. When it is on I also get positive 12V between the wires going into the stall protection board so I don't think I have a polarity issue. Best I can tell I have wired it correctly per the instructions, I just can't figure out what might be tripping the power supply. On the temperature controller Pins 7 and 10 have continuity across the heater ring, pins 8 and 9 have continuity across the jumper, and pins 3 and 4 have continuity across the thermocouple. There isn't any continuity between any other combination of pins. I am at a loss. I've put pictures of the wiring, voltage readings, and stall board display values in the google drive file linked below.

Hello,

I'm a noob at electrical wiring and encountered a problem after I thought I finished wiring the Filastruder. When I flip Switch 1, the PID turns on, put when I flip switch 2, there is a small shrill noise and the PID turns off. When I flip switch 2 again, the PID turns back on. I believe I've done the wiring correctly but obviously I'm sure it's a wiring problem. I've attached a picture of the one thing I may have differently than the instructions. Instead of having a wire from Switch 2 to the fan wire and a wire to In(+), I've crimped those two wires together directly with the spade connector. I believe this is the same as if I had an extra wire going out from the center of Switch 2 but I may be wrong.

I'm using a filawinder with a filabot, mainly because i dont want to wait a whole day for a spool of filament. I changed the gear ratio so the winder can keep up (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2912099) however the filament spooling is quite jerky and as a result the filament diameter is very inconsistent. How can this be accounted for in the firmware? I changed some variables to improve it and it works good when spooling starts, but when spool is full it's much more sensitive and has issues. it seems the motor turns on and off at 1 second intervals . is there a way to have it activating more times per second, polling more frequently for a shorter duration, to keep filament at a more consistent arc/height/diameter? please see below for reference:

https://youtu.be/SlGH_1CvzPc

firmware changes:

The changes are all made to FilaWinder_11.ino:

line 290 changes max motor speed. Default is 1.7, i'm running it at 0.4:
int ScaledOutput = (Output * 0.4); //Scale the Output from 0-150 to 0-255) default is output * 1.7

line 295 is acceleration. It speeds up at 20 units/cycle:
if ( (puller_speed - puller_speed_old) > 20) puller_speed = puller_speed_old + 20; //default is 25

line 296 is Deceleration, -4 units/cycle:
if ( (puller_speed - puller_speed_old) < -4) puller_speed = puller_speed_old - 4; //default is 25

I was thinking it may be beneficial to implement PID auto-tuning of motor speed, has anyone looked into this? I'm not sure if this would be static or if it's going to account for slowing down the wind speed as spool fills up.
