Topic: Cheap nozzle DIY $14-$18

Shopping for:
1/2 or 15mm brass end plug (measured by inner diameter) $5.00

5/8 or 15.8mm internal snap ring (look up user  wolverine-diesel on ebay to get 4 for $3.00)

250 Microns Stainless Steel Kief Screen (search on ebay to buy an entire sheet) $3.00
(I think 250 microns is exactly what you get from hose washer screen. It cost about the same)
(I personaly use 2 layers of 5/8 round hose washer screens for $3.00)
PICTURE BELOW uses hose washer screens.

Screen you buy will last for many many uses as well as getting extra snap rings, so in a long run its much cheaper then $14-$18. Second nozzle will only cost you the cost of the plug $5.00, you will have everything else already.

I have different nozzle for different materials because they produce different diameter. It helps allot to have more nozzles then one or even two.

God Bless !

Re: Cheap nozzle DIY $14-$18

great idea, have you been using them regularly now?

and is 15mm and 1/2 inch the same in this case?

im dealing with some extra liquid PLA atm and im not fond of drilling into the stock nozzles. seems perfect for testing.

Yes, i use them regularly.
I have 1.8mm for ABS and 2 of 1.9mm for PLA and used them for quiet some time.

Filter can be cleaned by removing while nozzle is hot and blow torch it until plastic burns off.
Try not to get the filter too much glowing red, plastic will burn off easy. Then just shake it off and put it back in place.
Same thing for the retainer ring.
Nozzles inside i clean with pickup forceps or wipe with cloth white its hot.

Works great !
