Re: SD2 + E3D T-GLASE test results + small spool holder!!

What do you think are advantages and disadvanatges between t-glase compared with clear ABS?

I am mostly asking because I have some clear ABS, and I am trying to decide if it's worth it to buy some clear t-glase.

I guess the only advantage for me is that T-Glase is food safe!

Re: SD2 + E3D T-GLASE test results + small spool holder!!

Though I wonder if anything that comes from our printers are really food safe. Hehe. But I suppose that is a good point, t-glase also probably a lil shiner and clearer but ABS can be acetoned to smooth it out.

Well....I have transparent ABS, maybe I need to print something like you guys did and take pics with and without acetone. I suspect the t-glase is clearer on the spool then the ABS.

Yes, thanks, I leave mounted for all my spools!! I use mainly PLA, and the spools fit perfect, no more messing around with the PVC end cap!!

Re: SD2 + E3D T-GLASE test results + small spool holder!!

Just out of curiosity. This is in clear ABS. The faster speed worked with this too. Bottom part is at normal speed while to top part was while the feedrate slider was at about 200. I'll have to acetone it and see what that does too.

Can I assume this means you got your replacement DRV8825?  And that you got it installed and adjusted with out breaking off that "little dial thingy"  big_smile

All was fine with it, but I quickly noticed a loss in quality of my prints, even after doing all the right changes in the slicers...

I prefere the 0.4...

Re: SD2 + E3D T-GLASE test results + small spool holder!!

The .4 worked fine for me also, I haven't tried the .6 yet. The only problem with the nylon vases was that they were far from watertight(the ABS was at least more watertight) but not like given the weight that they could even hold one flower anyways LOL.

I wish there was a vase option for double layer and a heavyier vase bottom in slic3r. I suppose such things would need to be designed directly.

Re: SD2 + E3D T-GLASE test results + small spool holder!!

I know in Kisslicer you can choose vase, and the number of skins... I made this a while ago, its thick enough to hold water if printed well....

Make sure you check out the other t-glase thread. Stevos758 did a bunch of testing with it.

Re: SD2 + E3D T-GLASE test results + small spool holder!!

I haven't had time to read through the entire thread, but noticed you mentioned jamming with T-Glass. I ordered several spools of TGlass when it came out and had the same issue. The filament I had was oval shaped and was too wide in one direction. I wrote in and Taulman was very accommodating in sending me an additional spool for free. What I later found was the filament was only bad in the beginning of the spool. After several arm lengths of filament were cleared the diameter was more consistent and printed without issue. This was the case with 3 spools I've used.

Spool holder I use for 618/645/TGlass: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:74278
