As soon as my heaters from E3D show up I will be testing it.

Re: Taulman t-glase

Mine came in Tue or Wed. I've been toying with it since. Right now my best results are with a glass bed @ 60º with E3D hotend, .4mm nozzle, at 212-220 range. About every other print jams where if I retracted and snipped the bad section it would feed through w/o further issue. I believe this is due to the irregular shape of the filament. I measure up to 2mm in one direction (oval) and 1.5 in the other. I'm going to email Taulman about it today to see if it's a known issue. Thus far all my prints are small and complete in 15-20m.

Cone was printed moments ago at 213º. I believe the next one was closer to 220, and the foggy print (3rd L to R) was printed at 245 when I forgot to change the default temp back. I've tried support material and it was very hard to remove without breaking the print. I had better luck cutting it than trying to snap it off.

EDIT: Taulman replied quickly saying they do expect some irregularities as this is a new manufacturer and new process. They're sending a replacement spool today. Nothing but good things to say about their products and customer service.

Re: Taulman t-glase

Looks good. What layer heights are you printing at? Are these single wall prints? Can you try printing the small file i attached and show a picture of something inside of it?

Thanks for posting.

Re: Taulman t-glase

I think most, if not all, of those are .2mm. One may be .3mm. The cone is mostly single wall, where the others have two parameters. Will post results of your stl shortly.

So far I've printed mostly thin walled small objects, but no noticeable warping at all. Most objects came off the printbed with little effort.

Re: Taulman t-glase

First "larger" print I've made with a flat surface. No warping or lifting at all. Came off with little effort after cooling for about 10m.

Looks like I need to tweak my settings for line thickness and temperature for clearer prints, but all around I'm quite impressed with the material.

Re: Taulman t-glase

Just ordered some too!  Would be interested in any process suggestions for ultimate  transparency.  Have an E3D but haven't swapped it out yet.  May try 200-205C knowing the solidoodle temp sensor may read up to 30C lower than actual. Will move to E3D at some point but prints have been coming out nicely lately and I don't want to mess with success quite yet.

How is the strength of the material?  Is it comparable to abs?

So I have been playing with t-glase for a few days.  I would say it is a little bit more brittle than ABS.

I'm trying to dial in speed vs. temp right now for best results.

Ill post some pictures once I have a full piece printed.

Re: Taulman t-glase

I just got back in the country to find my t glase has arrived. I ran a few test prints. Neat stuff. I'll post some pics soon.

Re: Taulman t-glase

What would be interesting to know is the light "refraction" property .

I'm thinking to print a long band to place on top of a led strip, to have a sort of diffuse glow. (to mimic "neon")

will that work?

Re: Taulman t-glase

I think you would be better off with 618 or 645. This stuff is pretty transparent. I messed around with some 645 as a flashlight diffuser. Works pretty well. It may be what you are looking for though.

Re: Taulman t-glase

Just hit sleep on my keyboard on accident on a 12 hour print.... On another note I think I'm going all t glase large prints. No warping at all. Printing on straight glass no hairspray with my enclosure off!

Re: Taulman t-glase

Looks good. What part levels are you publishing at? Are these single walls prints? Can you try publishing the small computer file i connected and display an image of something within of it?

Re: Taulman t-glase

Stevos, on the light lens, what setting did you use to get the checkered finish?

Robox printer, HICTOP (Prusa i3 variant) Model 3DP17 printer, ELEK 2.5W laser engraver, AutoDesk 123D Design, Windows 10

Yes the vase prints are single wall. Not sure what you mean by publishing?

Heartlander -

I think I just ran 100% infill at .3 layer height. Maybe over extrude a little.

I honestly cant answer. It's been a while.

But here are some new test prints of the colors

Printed single wall. .42 layer height and .5 nozzle diameter settings. Actual nozzle diameter is .4!
