Re: Maybe botObjects is legit after all

That is very impressive.  I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this, now that they've shown some work done with it.

Ow, thats gunna hurt.... Considering a 1KG Roll of PLA has on average 330 Metres (ABS is ~400m's due to its lower weight per cubic centimeter)... you are getting about 450grams for $49.. and I am not sure if its the cynic in me, but they aren't saying "180m per cartridge", they say the "cartridge system" (Which says to me each 'cartridge' actually holds 100gm's, as the *system* contains 500gm's.... )...

Its a nice printer.. but I hate the concept of shoving 3D Printers down the InkJet printer route neutral (Dirt Cheap Printers, subsidized by the Consumables you need to Mortgage your House for....)

And 'closed' Cartridge systems need to be "the first ones against the wall when the revolution comes" (to rehash Sirius Cybernetics Corporations Marketing Department's description from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.... wink )

(Length Measures arrived at using 1.04gm/cm2 for ABS, and 1.25gm/cm2 for PLA, 1.75mm filament giving a nominal cross section of .02405cm2, and is therefore based on 1Kg 'standard' Rolls...)

Thanks for the heads up, Daniel. Definitely confirms for me some long-standing suspicions I had. It's simply vaporware.

Direct link for anyone wanting it (Daniel's account has too few posts for links):

Re: Maybe botObjects is legit after all

BotObjects has lied to me and broken their terms and conditions.
I have been waiting for a refund for 9 weeks. I backed them over a year ago....

Even if it did everything they say it will do the way they have handled me as a customer is unacceptable- and I preordered 2 of them!
I have now been waiting for the CEO to approve my refund. yeah, right.

Re: Maybe botObjects is legit after all

Fact: «botobjects.com» attracts money from citizens under the obligation to deliver a miracle product. After that, no money, no printer, no answer! A lot of people are deceived. Me too. Said the Prosecutor General.

Re: Maybe botObjects is legit after all

the new Paper 3D printers advertised at the CES show also had high costs of the materials mostly ink since it uses full color bubble jet ink to soak each page of paper then glue between each layer and cutting shapes each layer. so time and material cost used would be much more than extruded plastic types. just a bit lower ecology waste plus printers cost more.
