Topic: Solidoodle 2 LCD screen keeps rebooting

I recently upgraded the chip on my Solidoodle 2 to an Atmea1284p and added an LCD screen and SD card support. When I first hooked up the new LCD screen and flashed the new firmware (Marlin v1.1.0-RC7) with LCD and SD support everything worked fine. The LCD booted up and I was able to navigate the menu, jog the print head, read from an SD card, etc. Then the second time I booted up my printer the LCD screen would turn on and show the startup menu, which displays "Marlin" and then the version on the top followed by marlins website underneath. After that it just continuously keeps rebooting and displaying the same startup screen. Im not sure if this has to do with something in the firmware or possibly a hardware issue. I also tried unplugging the steppers and then booting it which worked the first time, but after that continued to do the same thing, whether or not the steppers were plugged in.

If the screen is rebooting then so is the mainboard. Your problem is firmware related or power supply related.

Re: Solidoodle 2 LCD screen keeps rebooting

I think I have figured it out but Im not sure if it is supposed to do this. If I have an SD card plugged into the SD card slot on the LCD screen then everything works fine. I even printed a few things from the SD card today and it worked fine. Is there anyway to fix this issue so that I could turn the printer on without an SD card plugged in, Im assuming its in the firmware. If not, it isnt a huge deal because at least it works and I will be using an SD card most of the time anyway but it would be nice to fix this.
