Topic: [ABS] Polylac PA757
I recently got my order from Filastruder for some Irogran A85, Polylac ABS PA757, and PETG Eastar 6763. I am exceptionally happy to have them. But today, we will stick with the ABS PA757
Extruder:
Mostly stock Filastruder v1.6 #1870 extruding vertically with full barrel header wrap insulation, melt filter, and a Filawinder
Drying:
PA757 pellets look nearly identical to MG94
I never had to dry pellets, so I printed a basket and drilled 1.5mm holes in the bottom and sides to allow heat to creep in, but small enough so the pellets couldn't fall though. I placed said basket containing the PA757 pellets and some silica on a Printit Industries Hale bed and ran the heat at 115c within the enclosure for about 4 hours. The following picture is while I was drying PETG pellets without a lid (for documentation purposes).
Extrusion:
Temp: 189c
Rate: 8-10" per minute
Average diameter: 1.74 +/- 0.03mm
Printer:
Solidoodle SD2, E3D v6, Volcano w/.6 nozzle, Titan extruder, Lawsy carriages, Claghorn direct Y drive, bed stabilizer
Printing:
Printing was done with the exact same settings I use for *most* ABS filaments. In the case, MG94 and PA747 settings work just fine with 232c/97c. Speed was 80mm/s at .3951 height with 80% infill.

Comparison to available filament:
I do not believe I have ever purchased PA757 filament, though it looks and behaves very similar to Octave and Coex filament.
Takeaway and comments:
PA757 has a sheen of light that reflects off of it, but not as much as MG94 which looks like it was acetone smoothed after printing. It also extrudes slower than other ABS plastics similar to PA747, but doesn't give off fumes as bad. The variance was not as consistent as MG94 which I can get close to if not dead on 0.01mm tolerance at times.
