how to add a extra stand alone power supply for the heated bed?

For some reason my bed now takes forever to heat up.
will adding a sperate power supply help?
If so how?  thanks

Alternatively, we also have a well respected heatbed called the Hale that can heat to 100c in as little as 3min when used with a good PSU like the Supernight

Well my cheap china bed has been working fine for years. I had to upgrade to lead screws and then upload new firmware and now the bed taking 20mins to heat up to 60c

If you updated the firmware, did your run the PID or where the changes just made in regards to the lead screw?
You might want to rerun the PID for the bed.

You can add a mofset if you like with a second power supply on it. Let me know if you need a diagram for it.

You could also use a solid state relay as well. Not sure how your soldering skills are but a MOSFET would require soldering while a solid state relay would not.
