Topic: Hey

I'm Don from Canada, I am very new to 3D Printing, just bought a HicTop 3DP-11 kit about 1 month ago, been very successful with PLA, but not so much with ABS.  Here to learn about printing techniques and maybe/hopefully about design

Re: Hey

Welcome to your new obsession, lol wink

123D Design is a great program to start learning 3D design. pretty easy to use and learn.

there is nothing more satisfying than creating your own model and then printing it out successfully. smile

ABS likes a warm environment, with no drafts - your printer is an open frame - not the ideal conditions for ABS printing. Yes, it can be done, but as you have found, it is not easy. Building some sort of enclosure around the printer would greatly improve you chances of printing ABS successfully. even something as simple as a large cardboard box placed over the printer would improve your chances.
