Topic: Grant me a wish

link here - free, easy and can be printed without support as usual.

2016-03-22 : Someone report me that an error was made with the archive. i included the wrong STL for the main faerie. it's the 'visual' model (the faerie and the star together) instead of the faerie alone, and the star alone. i will updated the archive today.

2016-03-23 : the version 1.01 with the good files in the archive is online

Re: Grant me a wish

thank you... and some pictures of the final result.. not my best pictures and print, but you can see that there is a lot of work on the wings ...near a lithophane print..

Re: Grant me a wish

Beautiful as always and very impressive.  You have probably covered this before in the past, but what do you you use to join the star to the base?  Just an ABS slurry or something like weldon?

Re: Grant me a wish

i use abs slurry/acetone or Cyanoacrylate (crazyglue) depending of what is next to me on my desktop ;P

Re: Grant me a wish

Excellent job!  I may try this in glow-in-the-dark filament.

Re: Grant me a wish

I have used both regular plastic model glue in tube (which tends to leave flaked edge as if not attached well) and the Testers liquid cement (which does great if parts are against each other til dry leaving a glossy coating and it also seals cracks like layer separation and makes water tight, plus is a strong adhesion I think better than super glue in some ways.) it drys at least as solid as the print as to filing/sanding etc.

I have not yet tried Testers other liquid cements like their clear windshield glue that comes in the wedge shapen plastic bottles with thin nozzle, it works excellent for clear plastics and I have even used it to creat tiny windows using the 'soap bubble method'

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Didn't mean to hijack.  I'll start a new topic tomorrow with a picture of an experiment I did at work with weld-on.
