hairu526,
will you be selling these after the Kickstarter? I would like one, but I dont have the time or money right now.

It's too early to say. Right now I'm 100% focused on making the Kickstarter a success. However, I do plan on offering spare parts for sell.
Hi hairu526
I already tryed your software on github and did what you discribed there. Everthing worked till I tryed to start with
root@raspberrypi:/home/pi/freelss/src# sudo ./freelss
./freelss: error while loading shared libraries: libraspicam.so.0.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
root@raspberrypi:/home/pi/freelss/src#
Then I always get this do you know what I do wrong?
Regards
Patrick

Patrick, if you are able to build the library but are not able to link against it at runtime then it suggests that the library is not in ld's load path. The libraries should have installed to /usr/local/lib.
First execute the following:
sudo ldconfig
If you still get the error, open /etc/ld.so.conf.d/libc.conf and verify that /usr/local/lib is in that file. On my machine it looks like this...
# libc default configuration
/usr/local/lib
Run ldconfig and you should be OK!
sudo ldconfig
Btw, you shouldn't need to do this on Raspbian. What distribution are you running?
Thanks your first tip was it now it works. BEST REGARDS
Somehow I missed this on the forums! I just found out about it yesterday from n2ri at a 3Ders meeting we had in St. Louis.
Now, I'm a backer for a complete kit!
I've been test-driving a friend's Matter and Form scanner for a couple of weeks. I've enjoyed learning the abilities and limitations of 3D scanning. I'm glad to support this Kickstarter project, and am looking forward to hearing of everyone's experience with it.
Wish I saw this earlier so I don't have to wait as long now...hehe Just pledged as well. This is something i've been hoping for awhile now.
Hi hairu526
Can you make a drawing about dimensions of the scanner like height, how fat is the distance between the lasers and to the turntable and So on. Would help when rebuilding.
Thanks

You don't have to stick exactly to the dimensions of ATLAS 3D, the software allows you to configure that portion of it. Although it's not a dimensional drawing, you can see the default locations (in millimeters) of the turn table, camera, and lasers here... https://github.com/hairu/freelss/blob/m … s.cpp#L270
The center of the turntable is the origin, ie: x=0, y=0, and z=0.
How small of an object do you think can be scanned? e.g. toy soldier, matchbox car, gummi bear, bug collection...just some thoughts.

The smallest object I've scanned is one of those little pink erasers that go on the bottom of pencils.
Like one of these: http://ep.yimg.com/ay/yhst-134059276344 … -144-9.gif
can we get the stl files for scanner to start printing the parts?
N2RI - The STL's are posted on the kickstarter page under updates.
Sorry Link might help.....
203k...wow
so can I still get one of the $209 kits after tomarrow? I wont get my tax refund for likely another week to buy it. I want one but kickstarter reads like offer ends in 25hrs. there are still several left though.
Gratz on the ks campaign! I just seen/missed it but will def be following and building it. I've the parts and pi's already. Gonna start printing it soon
Mad props on this I haven't checked up on it in a while, ever test the blue laser? Think 405nm would work?
So excited to get back and start this project.
would also be interested in purchasing the kit since i missed it. will you be adding pre-orders after ks orders are done? or with batch 3?

Right after the Kickstarter kits are delivered we will be selling the kits online. PM me your email address and I will make sure you are among the first to know when they are available.
Excellent job! I've been following you on KS and here. I'm looking forward to my scanner, and I hope this works out great for you!
