Topic: how to section on dual extruders

Since the advent of more and more dual extruders printers,it would be nice to have a how to.That is if anybody knows how, I sure don't.

Re: how to section on dual extruders

I don't think it needs a new section, that's what hacks/mods is for.

Re: how to section on dual extruders

I think dual extrusion should be separate from hacks/mods. Hacks mods being more hardware/mod oriented. With plenty of new printers already available or soon to be available (SDWB) that support dual extrusion I think this section is relevant.

Not to mention I think we need to expand out further from Solidoodle and be more open to other printers. Seems like a great way to continue to do this.

Re: how to section on dual extruders

So you're saying native dual extrusion? OP seems to be looking for a section on modding to dual, for which threads already exist.

So if I buy a dual extrusion machine I can post in the new section. But, if I have modded to a Cyclops/Chimera or Kraken I need to stick to the hacks and mods section?  Seems a little fuzzy to me.

Re: how to section on dual extruders

All that I am saying is if I decided that I wanted a dual extrusion printer. I would need to know how to use it before hand or it would be wasted money.

Re: how to section on dual extruders

I am in the process of switching over to the Kraken and I have a Cyclops on the way.  All I can do is research and otherwise try and figure out the process that works best for me.
I will do my best to document the important steps and hope for the best.  The thing is others have already done this so I am confident that when I get to that stage I will be able to find the info I need and past that I'll just have to figure it out.

How to and hardware are two separate things. I'm not suggesting that we impose any restrictions on the section. It is for anyone if they think it is relevant to them.

In the spirit of Christmas I was simply trying to lighten things up a bit.  Sarcasm is difficult to portray with the typed word.
I Hope you and Tim have a very Merry Christmas. smile
