Topic: 3D printing a melodica

Hi all

I've been learning about 3D printing over the past few months to try and build a melodica (musical instrument).  I started out with a Flashforge, but now I've started using 3D printing services.  It's been quite a steep learning curve for me, but things are getting underway. It would be great if anyone has any tips, ideas or feedback... :-)

I've started a blog in which I'm documenting the process.  If you're interested, you can see it on the melodicaworld.com website

Thanks!

You could look at getting your keys printed in nylon.  It is made by melting powder with a laser, so it may be stronger than UV cured resin.  Sometimes services call it by other names, like Shapeways' "White Strong and Flexible".   It also takes fabric dye really well, so you can get all of the parts in white and then color them however you want.

Thanks for this info Ian.  I'll look into Nylon, and perhaps get a test key made up.  Do you know of anywhere UK based that offers this?

I did as you said, Ian, and they've come out really well.  "Strong and flexible" :-)
