Topic: Shaxon filament from Fry's Electronics

A few weeks ago I bought some filament from Fry's Electronics.  They carry a few brands, but being the cheap skate that I am, I bought one of their cheaper ones, made by shaxon.  The cost was $24.99 for 1kg spool.

They have both ABS and PLA, in both 1.75mm and 3mm.  For myself I bought one of each in ABS 1.75mm blue, orange and black.  So far I used the orange and the black.

This is the first spool of black filament that hasn't clogged my head.  I've gone through about 1/3 of the spool without any problems.  The orange is good too, but I was more impressed with the black.  I tried at least 3 other brands of black, and they all clogged the head, but this one works great, extrudes smoothly, no clogs and doesn't linger after a color change.

Not too bad for $25.  The only complaint is the relatively small selection of colors for ABS compared to their PLA.

To print or, 3D print, that is the question...
