Topic: Strange Movement on Ord Bot

Not sure if this belongs here, but:

On my Ord Bot build, all is good on Homing and direction of rotation is good; but I'm getting a distinct backlash of sorts when the Y axis homes:

The X and Z stop close to dead in their tracks when the end stops are hit, but only the Y motor does this...any ideas?  I looked through my configuration.h and Adv.h but couldn't see anything obvious...

This only happens when I hit the "Home all" button on RH...if I home independently, then X and Y are fine, but Z does not home at all and I get an "ECHO: Z Probe out. bed" in the log...Strange as I commented out the Auto-Leveling routine.

Any guidance would be appreciated!

Re: Strange Movement on Ord Bot

have you got the right amps dialled in on the driver ?

I haven't had a chance to watch the video; but the stepper is usually the first miscreant to check. Steppers themselves are pretty bulletproof and are either good or duds with little inbetween as a *general* rule... so check trimmer pots; swap drivers and see if the problem persists/follows stepper driver etc.

Adrian,
Not at the machine now (darn Day Job); but if I remember, the vrefs are set at about .44 for the X & Y; about .8 for the twin Z setup; anything less there and they didn't run smooth.

Will try switching X & Y tonight.  But again, Homing the Y axis individually does not cause the issue.  Only when Homing All...

Thanks!

Edit:  BTW, would this have anything to do with not having disabled MAXENDSTOPS in the firmware?

Re: Strange Movement on Ord Bot

OK...switch X & Y motors...seems the symptom follows the driver; BUT, both X and Y Home perfectly if I home them independently on RH...

I'll order some spare stepper drivers anyway, but any other ideas?

I still get the ECHO: Z probe out. bed error when homing Z, but only sometimes...

Thanks!
