It doesn't exist yet - the fact we even know about it was due to a Marketing cock-up that 'leaked' it early in the specs.
Standby for more info 'soon' on the software.

Re: Introducing Three New Solidoodle Models

as for duel extruders I have not seen any including copy cats of makerbot priced for less than 2x that of the Workbench series much less with as big of print surface. so we could buy all 3 models and have them become obsolete next year and still not be as sorry as Makerbot customers for investing too early ;^)

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Solid Press:
I noticed in the video would auto level, the switch hit the tip of figuerne, the Auto Level function may be a specific function or activated before a print såman just can push the sensor into the gene before running a large print.

There is at least one out there.  EZ3D has their phoenix printer for $500 with a 9.8x8.5x7.9 build volume.  I cancelled that order for the workbench for two reasons.  1. I wanted the 12" build volume, 2. I'm not certain of their dual nozzle implementation because they haven't shipped one yet.

It exists. We are alpha-ing it in house right now. There should be a public  beta soon. To be honest, the software is aimed at a slightly more casual crowd than the Soliforum. It's a simplified interface to get people started. Once people are up in running, they might want to switch to something a little more complex.

Anyway, we are working out the kinks of the basic software, and will be releasing details as they come. It should be shipping around the same time the Workbench models ship out.

I'm the developer of the software, so I'll answer any questions I can answer about it. I'll see if I can post some screenshots of it.

The main idea of the software is one click printing. Simply open a file and hit print.

Mann,, using google translate isn't always good :-)

What i mean, is the calibrating routine(excuse my spelling) a separate action one can use when one want's, or part of a 'start print' command.

Is it going to be similar to ultimaker's software? That seems to be a very simplified software but still useful enough to use without some of the hassle of repetier.

Also, do you know what the schedulel is looking like for the press? Just out of curiosity because it's getting harder to wait due to the excited. Lol.

We didn't take Ultimaker's software as a starting point. I've never seen it to be honest.

Hi , will the software have option to replicate an object and also put a support structure. Solidoodle press will be my first 3d printer and it will be great if such easy to use software will be available

Yes, support structures are supported. Currently, we are using Slic3r for our slicing needs. We have set it up to give you a reasonable basic profile without a massive number of menus. The goal of the software is to get you up and running with minimal fuss.

Re: Introducing Three New Solidoodle Models

Any comment on the official filament spool for the Press? (if its 1kg or smaller)

SD Press - v1 (Pre-order) / RAMPs /w DRV8825's / Cyclops (25w) / Dual Bowden / Mk8 Gear / MK2b PCB Heat bed /w custom replacement Z / PEI Bed
SD2 / E3D v6 / Direct Drive / Mk8 Gear / RAMBo v1.3 / PEI Bed / Anti Z backlash mod / Ikea Expedite enclosure.
Both Driven by Octoprint (devel) via a RPi B+ / Neopixel status alerts / GPIO Controlled SSR / (SD2) 450 Watt PSU for remote power-up/shutdown.

Re: Introducing Three New Solidoodle Models

Been following this thread closely, I have placed my order for the Solidoodle Press and it sounds great.  All the extra info I'm getting from this thread is very encouraging, although more pictures would be good also.

Do we know if the exhaust fan in the case is filtered to reduce smell (fumes)?

Rob

Re: Introducing Three New Solidoodle Models

I just wish I could pay like another 50 bucks to get it a few weeks sooner. It's only been 2 weeks since I ordered mine, but it feels like 2 months lol.

Right?! It's killing me lol. I don't have another 3d printer to lessen the blow either.

Re: Introducing Three New Solidoodle Models

I ordered the press and one spool. The spool is the normal as I can’t yet order the press spool. I assume (going by the posts above) that your shipping people will ship me the press spool.

However, do I need to send an email reminder?

Also will the press come with an empty spool?

Thanks

It looks like the Press went up to 449.99 (It went from 349, 399 to 449 then back down to 399.)

The website states 6-8 weeks to ship so considering they went on preorder on the 5th, realistically doesn't seem like they'll start shipping until mid to late September at the earliest

Will it be 6-8 weeks of Earth time or Solidoodle time? (I still remember my "6 to 8 weeks" wait for my SD2) smile
