Topic: Slic3r gcode lists name of profile used?

is there a line in gcode that lists name of slic3r profile used to make the gcode? I have lots of different ones and some work better for some types of models but cant remember which I used of models. I would like to be able to look in gcode of good prints to see which profile I used and use it on new models

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Not anything that shows the profile name, but if you are familiar with your various profile settings, you should be able to recognize it.

The very end of the code lists all the settings in the profile used to slice.  So go through it.

To print or, 3D print, that is the question...

An  interesting question.
You
Should be able to add a comment line to the code or add notes to your profile

A clarification:  you can easily add a line  in the G code by adding a note to the profile notes block.

Re: Slic3r gcode lists name of profile used?

In order to slice a model into G-code you just need to supply the STL file along with any config option you'd like to use:

slic3r my_model.stl --layer-height 0.2

This will generate a file named my_model.gcode in the same directory as the input STL file. You may want to specify a custom output path:

slic3r my_model.stl --layer-height 0.2 --output /path/to/output.gcode

The argument for --output can also be a directory; in that case the file will follow the automatic naming scheme (which you can override using the --output-filename-format option; see manual chapter about placeholders).
