Topic: Darth struder
I bought the new filastruder housing. I had an older version without the aluminum chassis, mounted to wood. So besides the the enclosure I ended up having to get the aluminum chassis and some hardware.
Started with a complete purge, disassembly and clean up. The original wiring job was a bit of a mess, so I had to pull that all apart after taking a bunch of pictures for assembly references.
It went together pretty smoothly after I figured out how to get all the electronics to fit in the chassis without rubbing or binding up. I had to get a new 60mm fan to install on the motor. I did the assembly without using the directions, just my wiring ref pics. I still need to get some new insulation for the barrel still. I designed a bracket to use darthstruder vertically on the wall since there isn't any mounting holes on the bottom. Still have to figure out a new hopper system for vertical use since the housing is so tall. My original chute doesn't fit any more.
All in all it was a simple upgrade. I love the new look. Went from a backyard homemade looking machine to a professional looking system.
