Topic: SLA XYZPrinting Nobel 1 RFID Tag

There has been significant success on the Davinci Jr and Davinci from Nobel on reading and writing RFID tags so it can be used as more open source. I wan to do the same to the XYZPrinting Nobel 1 SLA printer as well.

Last I read the SLA model could use any resin that was made for SLA printing.. Even Makerjuice will work.. How exactly do you tag a liquid with RFID?

The bottles are tagged and put into a cartridge slot with a tube connected to the bottle to feed the resin into the printer

Anyone made any progress on this?

Re: SLA XYZPrinting Nobel 1 RFID Tag

The JR, just got cracked after about 6 months and its small user base. The Nobel is even newer and has a much smaller user base. I would not expect a crack if any for a year or more. The speed of the crack has a very strong dependence on the number of users. This model due to cost and the RFID system which contradicts their original claim of it being open source has given this model a very small user base.

Re: SLA XYZPrinting Nobel 1 RFID Tag

I am betting that the manufacturer was a little lazy here. I am going to send the code that I can read to TheGreatOne and pay to see if it unlocks the chip. I know enough of little endian and coding to figure out what information is being sent to the system. Will keep up to date on this post.

Its probably the same system used in the Jr. and they cracked it I believe over in that thread.

Re: SLA XYZPrinting Nobel 1 RFID Tag

Just a word of caution. Based on my own experience with a Formlabs printer I found trying to use resin not formulated for a specific printer is a nightmare. I understand wanting to save money, but nothing worked with my Formlabs as good as their own brand did. Other stuff was just too brittle, did not cure correctly or at all. So a word to wise, in the case of the Nobel forget cracking it and just buy their resin. You will most likely get much better results. Since it is hard to tune an SLA like you can an FFD printer.

Re: SLA XYZPrinting Nobel 1 RFID Tag

Understood - but on this occasion I have a problem with the viscosity of their resin.  I am familiar with resin printers as I have been building my own so just want the opportunity to have a play.  Also - I had an RFID tag fail on one of my bottles fail so I have a displaced 500ml that I have to go through the XYZ customer service to get replaced.  As they responded 3 days after my initial enquiry, I would just rather circumvent the system all together.

Re: SLA XYZPrinting Nobel 1 RFID Tag

Really hope someone gets a crack for the RFID tags.  The price tag is more then double Makerjuice prices and not available on amazon right now.  $146 for a liter shipped from XYZ Printing

Re: SLA XYZPrinting Nobel 1 RFID Tag

Can we get this topic back on track?
Would like to be able to hack the RFID tags for the Nobel 1.0.
Does anyone have electronics knowledge for that?

You should follow the same topic in the XYZ forum on the JR here. The technology is probably the same or similar. Your not going to find much support on the Nobel here as it is an XYZ machine and locked to it's own resin so it has a very small following especially here.

Re: SLA XYZPrinting Nobel 1 RFID Tag

I'll see if I can find anything. Would like to hear from an RFID experienced electrical engineer and if it can be re-programmed and if so, with what.

I'll do some research myself.

Any updates on this post?

I also would like to use any resin on my Nobel 1A but it seams that XYZ don't want me to do so.
I have a proxmark3 so if anyone out there who wants to be challenged is welcome.

Re: SLA XYZPrinting Nobel 1 RFID Tag

I am also trying to do this bypass hack to an RFID system on an envisiontech Vector 3sp machine.  I would love to know if anyone has had success with this or has successfully used opensource resin with this machine.
