Topic: Willing to spend between £500-£700 - any ideas, please?

Hi all.

I really wanted to buy the XYZ Da Vinci 1.0 AiO because of the fact that it had a scanner and a decent build platform size but I've read too many bad reviews on this to go any further:

Please can I ask for any recommendations in this price range? And how much are half-decent scanners?

Thank you.

CHeck amazon UK for something you like then post a link here the ctc brand is similar to the flash forge and half the money .

Kind of out of range but a couple of printers with good reps.

As far as a scanner the atlas kit is one of the few viable choices without spending thousands.

Just my personal opinion here, but I would not buy a DaVinci anything. they are closed source which means you are locked into their software, hardware and materials.

and from all the reports I have seen (granted, not that many) the scanner in the AiO is not very good.

I just finished building my Atlas 3D Scanner yesterday and have been playing around with it since - so far, I am pretty impressed with it's capabilities - especially considering the price point ($300 USD + enclosure kit).

just finished the first pass on an old cardinal figurine... not too bad for a "cheap kit". yes, there are some gaps in places the laser could not see, and a few stray points here and there, but I dont have an ideal location, or lighting set up yet... a couple more passes with the figurine at different angles and I should be able to get a nearly complete model.
