Topic: Beginners question about lowering the bed

I apologize to the group for asking such a rudimental question....  Brand-new to 3-D printing and I just received the da Vinci 3-D printer 1.0 Pro.  I've gone through all of the calibration and the bed is positions up high closed to the printing head. I have not put the provided tape on the bed yet.  Again here we go with the stupid question......   how do I lower the bed So that I can apply the tape?

Re: Beginners question about lowering the bed

There are thumb screws on the bottom of the platform. They adjust your initial bed height. If they are all the way down and the bed is still too high then there is something bent possibly.

Also the server here is slow to respond to the submit button. You might want to go back and delete the redundant threads to avoid confusion.

Re: Beginners question about lowering the bed

I understand the thumbscrews for leveling the bed,   but the problem I'm running into is in the "jog mode" it only allows me to press the button once to move 10 mm down. Repeated efforts to push the button give me nothing but a Beep.   The bed is currently sitting about midpoint so I know I have plenty of room up-and-down.  Is this a bug or a common failure????

you need to home the printer so it moves home to the upper position. Since it has no sensor at the bottom it counts steps from home to around 180. It will not go past 180 if it thinks it is at 180. It sounds to me like yours thinks it is at 180 so it is at the limit it will allow for in that direction. It should show on the screen what the current Z position is if I remember right. Been so long since I used stock I can't remember if that is shown.

Re: Beginners question about lowering the bed

On the Dav 1.0 LCD there are 4 levels of adjustment for the z position. 0.1, 1, 10 and 100mm.
The screen only shows 3 levels at a time so you need to scroll down to see 100mm.
On the 1.0 it asks if you want to home the axis first before it makes the adjustment.
Don't know if the Pro LCD is laid out the same ??
