Re: Solidoodle 3: not printing in center anymore

Thank you very much for the link but I am really bad with software. The steps are confusing me. I am not sure what I have to do and how. sad

I am going to give it a try. I am pretty sure I still have the old Arduino0022 IDE installed, but I am not sure which step to take next.

Re: Solidoodle 3: not printing in center anymore

a lot of what you need to do next will depend on what controller board you have.

SD4 #1 & #2 - Lawsy carriages, E3D v6, Rumba controller board, mirror bed plate, X motor fan, upgraded PSU & Mica bed heater
SD4 #3 - in the works ~ Folgertech FT-5, rev 1

Is there a link showing what steps I have to do to update the firmware?

Is there a link to the steps I have to take to update the firmware? I don't know how to do it. (By steps I mean what to click, what to connect, etc.)

Re: Solidoodle 3: not printing in center anymore

There are many tutorials on loading marlin firmware, and using the arduino IDE .
there really is not a lot to it you do need to have the correct board selected in the arduino IDE and the correct com port . Also do not have your RH or other host program running while loading new firmware.
It is recommended   you use a laptop or a desktop with a ups. A power outage will cause problems in the middle of a download.
I am not really a software guy either but installing firmware is not bad.

Re: Solidoodle 3: not printing in center anymore

instructions on how to flash the firmware are located in the wiki (click on the link in the blue bar at the top of the page)
then find the firmware link in the contents on the wiki page

Re: Solidoodle 3: not printing in center anymore

Thank you! I updated the firmware again to the SD3 one and now it prints in the center. However, the print quality is HORRIBLE! I had it set up so good before and now it's all messed up!

Re: Solidoodle 3: not printing in center anymore

you need to recalibrate the extruder steps/mm, by default it is set to way over extrude - if I recall is is set to 138... a setting of 105 would be much closer to where you should be, but you need to perform the actual calibration to be sure. My #1 SD4 was more like 102.5 with the stock setup.

yes, actually... try this...

then, once you get that done, calibrate your filament for the best results...
