Topic: Raspberry PI scanning errors or not?

Hi all I am new to these forums and after looking around a bit i cannot find the answer to a possible error i see when the PI is scanning an object.
Firstly i notice it is discarding a LOT of frames and secondly i sometimes see an error where it says that back projection ray going wrong direction....(or something like that)

Are these normal errors, or should i be worried?

Kev,
You are likely running an older version of the software.  There should be a serial number sticker on the bottom of the stepper motor.  Enter this into the Settings->Setup page of the software and then click Check for Updates.  You should not have that problem once you update to the latest version.  There are also many other improvements that have been added to the software over the various releases.

Re: Raspberry PI scanning errors or not?

you'll notice back projection errors if you don't have a wall or other solid back behind your scanner, any movement the camera picks up will be scanned. make sure the camera is looking at a wall or other featureless surface behind your turntable when you look through the camera, you should not see anything moving but the turntable and what is on the turntable.
