Topic: Detailed printing problems.

I am using repetier on my Da Vinci 1.0 and everthing else is stock.  I have a few problems with printing and I don't know what I need to do to fix them.  I have two pictures to show the problems.  The ears are messed up on one and the underside of the face is messed up on the other.  I can't figure out how to fix this issue.

Thanks

Re: Detailed printing problems.

You need more cooling. the previously printed layer doesnt have enough time to cool before it heats back up from the next layer. try a fan on it as it prints. or print multiple items at once, or print a tall skirt along with it.

Re: Detailed printing problems.

That's kind of what I figured for the first picture.  I have done printing multiple items on small prints.  Is there any settings that I can adjust in the Repetier Host software? I'm not sure how to print a tall skirt in the settings.

Thanks

Re: Detailed printing problems.

Use a layer fan and set your slicer to reduce print speed for layers that take less than something like 5 seconds, if your slicer has this option.

Re: Detailed printing problems.

I haven't seen any option for that in the Repetier Host or Slic3r software.

Thanks

Re: Detailed printing problems.

its under cooling, in the filament settings tab on slic3r "slow down if layer print time is below:"

Re: Detailed printing problems.

Thanks.  What fan is it referring to under keep fan always on?  I only fan I have is to keep the extruder cool.

Re: Detailed printing problems.

lots of people attach fans to the extruder to blow on the part as it prints. helps a lot

Is there a way to attach it and control it with that Slic3r option?

Re: Detailed printing problems.

Another option is to print several objects at one time  gives more time for plastic to cool.
