Topic: Solidoodle 4 UltiMachine RAMBo 1.3 Upgrade

Spent the last month or so transplanting the RAMBo 1.3 motherboard into my Solidoodle 4 frame.  I don't have the motherboard packaged yet but the machine is calibrated and printing well.  If anybody is interested in this build I can post the configuration.h files and give a description better than the images show.  Final build has the RAMBo 1.3 motherboard, Fleks 3D print bed, and E3D V6 nozzle.

I'm quite interested in your entire build big_smile
I've recently got given a stock Solidoodle 4 and I want to upgrade the Hotend and board so that I can print bridges in ABS with a cooling fan. Right now it can't do bridges at all >_>
Also where'd you get those nice looking switches?

Re: Solidoodle 4 UltiMachine RAMBo 1.3 Upgrade

The RAMBo 1.3 has several IO for fans, additional extruders, and sensors.  The E3D V6 hot end was the first improvement I made to the machine after the stock extruder died.  Eventually the stock mother board output for the extruder died so I went ahead and upgraded to RAMBo.  I recycled everything from the Solidoodle 4 except the mother board connectors and limit switches.  Also, light bar switches came from OTRATTW but you can find them on DigiKey and Mouser if you look hard enough.

Try adding a fan that blows on the part near the hot end. Should be a big help for bridging. It's what I had to do besides dialing in the settings

Yeah but then I'd have to have it always on with the stock board which wouldn't be good for the other layers
