Re: (SD4) X axis binding in only certain areas of the bed? (vid included)

You certainly get an A for effort.
An intermittent break in a wire can be near impossible to test for.
If you'd like to simply replace that motor, let me know.  We don't list them in the store but I know we have at least one new one on the shelf.  Just let me know and we can figure that out.

You should actually take multimeter set on continuity. Connect one lead at the motor and one lead at the board on the same wire and then move the motor or wire around while watching the meter. You will want to flex the wire in all directions snd flex it in all directions at any point that it was tie wrapped or secured in some way. Do this with all 4 wires. They did not sctually mean to look at the wires in the motor.

As an alternative unmount the motor and leave it connected. Strt it running and just move it so you flex the wires in every posi le way. See if it stops at any point. Thats what they wanted you to do.

I did test the wires continuity with my multi meter, but only from the back of the motor to the plug that connects to the board. The end of the wires seem to go inside the motor where I couldnt reach them without taking the motor apart more, and worrying that I wouldnt be able to put it back together haha So possibly a break near the end?

Hahaha thanks. As frustrating as this is, I probably wouldnt be learning so much if this didnt happen. But I will PM you about ordering a motor.

This is exactly why we started the store in the first place.  We will get you up and running one way or another.

Got the motor a day earlier than expected so I hooked it up and ran the box test again with zero binding. I only had time to run one test but ill try again today. Knock on wood but I think this might have fixed months of binding.
