Sub $40 after conversion. I'll get one to test out once the stateside distributor is in stock.
Could be pretty handy

I want the Lix pen at 3-4 times that price

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

At 450 C wouldn't it end up burning the plastic and emitting smoke and fumes? I'm not so sure I'd want to use this thing with anything other than PLA.

yeah an adjustable temp soldering unit is better and wood carvers use them also for wood burnning details with shades of brown depending on temp. must have digital temp readout those units can easily run several hundred dollars but do great job. I watch ebay for good COMPLETE (some are missing needed parts) units cheap that show up from time to time. Weller is best btrand
