Topic: Drier filament box 0 to 75°C

Hi

I started to make a filament dehydrator.
It can grow in my first test, the temperature of 75 ° C.
I hope soon to reach 85 ° C.
Control takes place with an electronic controller.
I heat all with resistance.
The air is mixed by a small fan which is resistant to 85 ° C.
I can put a 2kg spool.
It is put on bearings to rotate freely.
The drier is connected to the printer.
Thus, the filament is dehydrated during printing.
Everything is powered by 220V / 110V.

What do you think ?

I think launching a kickstarter.

you're going to have a hard time i think. it will have to be extremely cheap.

people will just buy a cheap food dehydrator from harbor freight and poke a hole in the side.

if ABS even gets that hot on the spool it with deform. plus heat dont get moisture out unless low altitude and about boiling point. need a de-humidifier like for basements, cigar/gun cases which dont get so hot as just dry. e.g. if you plased a pan of water on burner in Denver CO it boils at less than 100c but wont cook or kill germs unless above 180f

dehumidifiers in say a lumber mill for drying wood the room gets only near 100f and removes moister well

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Water/H2O is like most things a refrigerant (though not a very suitable use as such in most cases) with boiling and freezing points at each end of its liquid state. Refrigerants are effected by  both Temperature and Pressure which can change the Temp at which they become Gas, Liquid or Solid. thats why they have PT charts for them and Properties of Saturated steam is a complex PT chart for Water. all of which are used in the HVAC/R field and Chemistry Labs.

not true. water evaporates well under boiling point. heat makes this process go much faster.

does your hair dryer make your hair heat to boiling point? no. but it works all the same.

thats called distillation and how a dehumidifier or air conditioner works. and is what I said, "heat dont get rid of water" sometimes. its all pressure temperature related just like all refrigerants and is why HVAC techs us PT charts. water is a low grade refrigerant as is any chemical that changes state from Gas/Liquid/Solid based on those two factors. you will find the same principles as a PT chart for Water in "properties of Saturated steam" charts. dehumidifiers are used for many things to draw moisture out. in lumber yards the wood drying room uses large dehumidifiers for this and temp only get about 100f not 100c. this method works for damp basement units, Cigar or Gun storage cabinets etc. without raising temps so high as to damage anything even ABS/PLA plastic etc. the Evaporator coil is cold while condenser coil is hot so when the 2 are combined only the heat of the compressor is added while removing the H2O from the air passing over the Evap then draining into a pan or drain pipe.

ever seen anybody try to boil an egg or make coffee in high altitudes? the water boils at such low temps due to low pressure atmosphere it wont work

also the way Refrigeration techs remove moisture in short time is in a sealed system (or an air tight chamber) connect an HVAC type Vacuum pump to it with a vacuum gauge that reads down to -30 inches of mercury and amicron Mircon meter let it run till lits at -30" and lower than 50 Microns moisture content. then its totally dry
