Re: check out this beast of a Delta!

Want!  Want a delta in general.

SD2 Sanguinololu 1.3a atmega1284p, wood platform, lawsy's carriages, braided fishing line, pallet wood overhead spool mount, carboard/magnet enclosure, glass bed, E3D v6, bed levelling knobs, extended z-stop, 25A DC-DC SSR for bed heater, everything fixed to the SD2 frame, marlin firmware with some adjustments and extra failsafes enabled.  I'll never give up on you, little printer that could(n't)!

Re: check out this beast of a Delta!

Help me understand why you would like a delta. Are they better res? Faster? More reliable? They sure look cool when printing but there has to be more to it.

Re: check out this beast of a Delta!

Faster and better res I believe. But I hear the calibration can be a nightmare though!

Solidoodle 2 - e3dv6 - Hobb Goblin - e3d Titan - lawsy carriages - Direct Drive Y Axis - T8 Z axis - OctoPi

Re: check out this beast of a Delta!

Resolution is the same (or worse actually, since it varies over the bed area). Primary benefit is speed.

Here's a larger delta:

Re: check out this beast of a Delta!

Primary benefit is speed and print height. They are a pain to calibrate. They have several more parameters that have to be set up such as flatness or trim depending on firmware.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: check out this beast of a Delta!

the one I posted is still being developed and not even all STL files for parts available nor assembly info, kit price etc. I think Deltas would be great for artificial limbs like legs etc. otherwise I only need small 3D printer for 98% of my items. and fine detail low post print cleanup.

part daddy is way out of home use more industrial. and it has built in filament maker using mass amounts of pellets and near 1/4" nozzle
