Topic: Proto Pasta

I've been using proto pasta for the past 6 months with great success and awesome prints. They have really decent PLA. I haven't had any issues with it and they are right in the US which is nice. I've tried their PLA stainless steel and Coffee infused PLA and love them. I want to try the magnetic iron and carbon fiber soon. Has anyone tried them yet? Do you have examples of what you printed?

I wish they made wood filament too. Their website is protopasta.com if you have no clue what I am talking about.

Actually their website is http://www.proto-pasta.com/ so you got a minor typo there. Been thinking of trying some of their stuff. Just wish it was not so expensive..

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: Proto Pasta

The coffee pla is the cheapest at the moment. I dig it.

Re: Proto Pasta

Even though their SSPLA is insanely brittle, it extrudes well and is fun to play with if you have the time.
I was a KS backer for their original High Temp PLA which is still unopened. One day I will chime in on that one.

Feel free to share what you've printed here. Some users may be on the fence purchasing exotics, so stories and pictures always help.

Printit Mason and Printit Horizon printers
Multiple SD2s- Bulldog XL, E3D v5/v6/Lite6, Volcano, Hobb Goblin, Titan, .9 motor, Lawsy carriages, direct Y drive, fishing line...the list goes on
Filawinder and Filastruder #1870.....worth every penny!

+1 for the pics

I've been printing with bronzefill for a while now but it'd love to try the magnetic PLA.

Re: Proto Pasta

I just ordered magnetic PLA and will post pics eventually when I print something. I like to print important things in exotics instead of random things. I have pics uploaded on my instagram that show the different filaments they sell that ive 3d printed. I've only printed with stainless steel and pla coffee.

But honestly, Their the only pla I print with because it comes out so well. I do have some cheap wood filament I print with but I almost never print with generics anymore.
