Topic: Thermocouple alternative.

My dual hotend has screw in thermocouples. I have some thermistors laying around and was thinking of using high temp RTV or JB weld and sealing the thermistor into a standoff that would thread into the thermocouples hole. My reason for doing this is that I have swapped over to an Azteeg X3Pro and it is not very thermocouple friendly.

So any one ever tried this or see issues with it?

Azteeg x3 Pro has two thermocouple inputs.

It does but they are not mapped by the firmware. You have to go in and chsnge the pin.h settings and modify the gain on the amplifier. So I was looking to use the mapped thermistor inputs instead but then it just hit me I need one of those for the bed.

Oh well scrstch this idea, I'll just remap the pins and modify the gain.

Yup. We did this with EMC in that other thread haha!

I'd be more inclined to say that Marlin is not very azteeg x3 pro friendly. tongue

* change the pins.h such that TEMP0 and 1 pins are pin 4 and 5 (the TC1, TC2 inputs), not the thermistor inputs.
* Don't use thermistor inputs 0 and 1, (they're mapped to nothing) - just use the bed thermistor and 2,3,4...
* config.h needs TEMP_SENSOR_0 and 1 = -1
* config_adv.h needs the AD595 gain set to 2.0 for the X3 tc amps.

See how that goes. smile
