Topic: stepper drive voltage readings

I get different voltages for the stepper drives when I move the ground lead to different ground locations...  the manual indicates one of the pins on each of the boards, but when grounding to the psu chassis the voltage increases.. why is that? and which ground should I use..

Re: stepper drive voltage readings

Boards like these have a digital ground, and an analog ground. They are usually separated by a 1K ohm resistor which will make the voltage potential between the two slightly different. You should use the ground that the driver provider specifies.
