Topic: What test model do you use to compare settings and filament?
Hey all,
Just wondering what you guys use to test temperatures, and filaments out and why!
Thanks,

I made a 30mm cube with 20mm bores on the vertical and horizontal axis.
If you are looking for how to calibrate for the best quality, start here: http://www.soliwiki.com/#Calibrations
and actually, you should start by getting an average filament diameter for the filament you are using. Every spool will be slightly different and it is very rare that one will average out to exactly 1.75mm (or 3mm if that is what you use)
to get the average diameter, pull several feet (4-6ft) from the spool and take between 7 & 10 diameter measurements with a pair of calipers along that length, making note of each one. Then add them up and divide by the number of measurements you took. the resulting number is what you want to enter into your slicing program for filament diameter.
Then proceed with the other calibrations in the wiki.
Yes, they are time consuming, but taking the time to do these will greatly improve your print quality.
